The "White Wine Drinker’s" Tequila: Crisp, Floral, and Creamy
For too long, Blanco tequila has been relegated to the role of a mixer, hidden away in sugary margaritas. Compoveda Blanco changes the narrative. This is a Sipping Blanco, crafted with the same attention to terroir and texture as a fine Sauvignon Blanc or an unoaked Chardonnay.
If you usually find unaged spirits too harsh or "biting," Compoveda Blanco will surprise you. It uses a unique oxygenation process post-distillation to soften the alcohol, creating a lush, creamy mouthfeel that allows the natural sweetness of the Highland agave to shine without the burn.
Why It’s Exceptional
While the Reposado and Extra Añejo rely on barrels for flavor, the Blanco relies entirely on the quality of the raw ingredients and the skill of the Master Distiller.
- Master Crafted: Produced by renowned Master Distiller Sergio Cruz at NOM 1414 in the Highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco.
- Oxygenated for Smoothness: After double distillation in copper pots, the spirit is aerated. This mellows the texture, giving it a medium-bodied, silky weight on the tongue that is rare for a Blanco.
- Pure Agave Sweetness: Slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens to caramelize the agave sugars, resulting in a spirit that is naturally sweet, not sharp.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Clean and vibrant. A bouquet of white flowers (jasmine) and fresh cooked agave hits you first, followed by bright notes of lemon zest, white peach, and a touch of fresh mint.
Palate: Surprisingly creamy and soft. The oxygenation creates a velvety texture that coats the mouth. You will taste sweet agave nectar, citrus lemonade, and a subtle minerality that speaks to the red clay soil of the Highlands.
Finish: Crisp and refreshing. It leaves a gentle, warming sensation with a lingering hint of white pepper and sweet fruit—clean enough to cleanse the palate, but complex enough to remember.
